This weekend was a perfect example of cold and wind with turkeys. It's a bad combination. Birds were gobbling a lot first thing both days as they located each other. Then things got quiet and the birds were skittish. Saturday was the better day since the wind died down quite a bit and things warmed up. Let 4 jakes walk.....looking back I shouldn't have done that.

Today (Sunday) we didn't see even one bird. Heard them at fist light but that was it. Michaela was somewhat bummed....so was I. Looking back I should have let her shoot a jake. May take her out opening morning on Thursday to redeem myself.
